Perfect Packaging!

Our new Design and Technology topic is all about packaging!

We have been investigating different packaging including Easter egg, perfume and cat food boxes.We were looking at the design of the box, their original purpose, shape, colour and measurement of the boxes as well as the material used and information displayed.

By the end of our topic we will have designed and made our own packaging along with an advert to market our product!

Our new Literacy topic is all about Authors and letters. We are studying David Walliams.

I really like David Walliams books because they really make we laugh and they make me want to keep reading!

Today we found common themes around several of David Walliam's books and discussed what we liked about them!

Bringing images to life!

Our new ICT topic is about bringing images to life!

First, we watched a few short clips from the children's T.V. programme Shaun the Sheep!

Did you know the characters are made completely from Plasticine!?

Today some of us worked in pairs to create a story board for our own short story while others of us started to create our own characters using play dough.

Habitats around Great Gaddesden!

Our new Science topic is Habitats.

Habitats are places that animals live.

Today in science we went to look around the playground, bark area and the school garden for any signs of animal homes.

We found lots of feathers that let us know that birds live nearby and glittery snail tracks!

We will continue to learn all about Great Gaddesden as a habitat!
