Niomi's Quest! Written by Hattie

In our literacy lessons we have been writing our own myth and legends. Hattie has worked extremely hard on her myth and has produced a fantastic piece of writing. Hattie's story isn't finished yet, so watch this space!

Many , many, many years ago in the bitterly cold, snowy mountains of Rome was a small village home to many Roman warriors. Every one was brutal to each other in training, but the most ruthless was a beautiful orphan called Niomi. Kind and loving she may be, Niomi had never lost a battle in her life. The mountains where Niomi lived were feisty, cold and not a nice place to live.

The next day was harsh training for long marathons through bitterly cold caves that were impossible to get out of without heavy frostbite.

Piercingly bitter weather made it's way up to Niomi's ram-shackle village but training was still on, at last Niomi was prepared! She trudged through the snow which was as deep as the ocean, with her hard, shiny, turtle shell shield and her beast tooth dagger strapped firmly on her side. Nothing could stop her now...

By Hattie.

  1. Tremendous writing Hattie! Wonderful description, including a great range of exciting vocabulary choices. I particularly like your simile about the depth of the snow. I look forward to reading the rest of your myth.
