For maths we were investigating some really tricky questions.
We created our questions around the World Cup.
Here are our questions:
How many blades of grass are there on a pitch? (We used the Penfold instead)
How many footballs will fit into a goal?
How many squares are in the fence surrounding the Penfold?
We weren't allowed to count everything, we had to show a method of working out.
We used our speaking and listening skills, our knowledge of measuring (some of us measured distance on a trundle wheel, others marked our square meters, and we had to show written working out.
Here are some pictures of us working!
Also, here are our answers, they are, of course only estimations!
Number of blades of grass on the Penfold = 6,048,000
Number of footballs that will fit into a goal = 300
Number of squares in the fence surrounding the Penfold = 1148
